Plumber’s Pick: Faucets & Fixtures 2

When choosing faucets and fixtures, there are many variables to consider. The last article, Faucets & Fixtures Part 1, focused on price and quality. This time, we will look at other aspects such as colors, features, and warranty.

Choosing the Color of your Faucets and Fixtures

Let’s start with color. Choosing a sink, toilet, bathtub, or faucet in a specific color is an excellent way to liven up a bathroom or kitchen. It is also a great way to express one’s taste. In the Ray May Plumbing showroom, we put various color options on display. This way, we can show those interested that there are indeed different color options, as well as expose others to a look they may not have considered before. On the fixture side, we have colors like biscuit and almond besides white. The Kohler Company makes a wide array of tones for those with a more adventurous palate. As far as faucets, other finishes are available. Don’t want a chrome finish? Check out a brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, pewter, or copper. There are a variety of manufacturers who make these and more colors.

Various Features to Consider

Let’s talk features now for a minute. Showerheads come in many styles and multiple spray settings, and water-saving options. Toilets have 1.6 or 1.28-gallon flushing options. There are also dual-flush toilets that offer either 1.28 or 0.9 gallons per flush in the same toilet. If you are looking for kitchen, bath, bar, or prep sinks, keep in mind there are self-rimming, under-mount, and tile in models.

“What about bathtubs,” you say? There are numerous sizes, depths, whirlpools, and soaker features. More than can be listed here. When it comes to features, the sky is the limit, make sure they fit your requirements so you are not paying for features you do not need.

What about the Warranty for Your Faucets & Fixtures

Last but not least is the warranty. Most companies offer a limited lifetime warranty. Ask your showroom sales associate or check with the manufacturer if you’re unsure. Do not purchase any faucets or fixtures without a manufacturer’s warranty. You will not regret it.

We at Ray May Plumbing hope this helps when you choose your next plumbing purchase.
